Leafline is a reading app. It has no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across other apps or websites. This page describes exactly what is stored and why, in plain terms.
What Leafline stores
Your email address
Used to sign you in. Leafline has no passwords — you receive a code by email each time you sign in on a new device. Your email is not shown to other people.
Optional profile details
A display name, a contact number and a profile picture, if you choose to add them. Your display name and picture are visible to other Leafline users, since that is how people find and recognise each other. The contact number is not shown to anyone.
Your library and reading position
Which books are on your shelf, and how far through each one you are. This is what lets you pick up where you stopped on another device. It is private unless you turn on a public shelf.
Your Moments
The notes, quotes, questions and reactions you mark while reading, along with the position in the book where you marked them. Every Moment is private by default. A Moment becomes visible to people who follow you only when you choose to share it, and you can make it private again at any time.
Book requests
If you ask for a book that isn't in the library, the title and any note you add are sent to us so we can consider adding it.
What Leafline does not store
- Books you import yourself. Files you add from your own device stay on that device. They are never uploaded.
- Payment details. Leafline does not take payments.
- Location, contacts, photos, or your device's identifiers. None are requested or collected. Choosing a profile picture gives Leafline that one image, not access to your photo library.
- Analytics or advertising profiles. There is no tracking SDK in the app.
Who else is involved
Two services process data on Leafline's behalf, and nothing is sold or shared beyond them:
- Supabase — hosts the database that stores your account, library and Moments.
- Brevo — delivers your sign-in emails. It receives your email address for that purpose only.
Your control
Export everything
Profile → Export My Data produces a file containing your profile, shelf, reading progress and every Moment, which you can save or send anywhere.
Delete everything
Profile → Delete Account permanently removes your account, profile, shelf, reading progress and Moments. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Book requests are kept, but the link to you is removed, so they no longer identify anyone.
Change your mind
Any shared Moment can be made private again, and a public shelf can be made private, at any time, from inside the app.
Children
Leafline is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who it is shared with, the app will say so before the change takes effect.
